This page explains how we research, write, and maintain the guides and reviews on Ticket Dismissal HQ.
Sources
State rules are taken from primary sources: the statute (for Texas, Code of Criminal Procedure articles 45.051 and 45.0511 and the Transportation Code), the regulating agency (TDLR, DPS, DMV or DHSMV depending on the state), and the courts’ own published procedures. Fees come from the agency’s fee schedule. Provider details (price, formats, delivery, guarantees) come from the provider’s current site and terms, which we quote where possible. Each guide lists its sources at the bottom.
Reviews
We assess every course on the same points: whether it’s on the state’s approved list, the real all-in price including certificate delivery, how fast the certificate arrives, refund and guarantee terms, and the volume and tone of independent customer reviews. Ratings are ours alone. Providers don’t see reviews before publication and can’t pay for placement.
Updates and corrections
Every guide displays its last-updated date. We re-check fees, prices and legal rules at least annually and whenever a legislature or agency changes them. If you find an error, a fee that’s changed, or a court that handles things differently from what we describe, contact us; corrections are made promptly and material changes are noted in the guide.
Not legal advice
Our content is general information about traffic-court procedure. It isn’t legal advice and doesn’t create an attorney-client relationship. Courts have discretion in many situations, and rules change. For anything beyond a routine moving violation, consult a licensed attorney in the jurisdiction where your ticket was issued.
