Aceable vs iDriveSafely

By the Ticket Dismissal HQ editorial teamReviewed Oct 21, 2026Sources cited at the endNot legal advice

Aceable and iDriveSafely are the two big national brands selling a TDLR-approved Texas course. Aceable is the newer, app-first product; iDriveSafely is the long-running traffic-school company with text, audio and video options at the minimum price. Both get you the same certificate. The choice is format and checkout experience.

Verdict

  • Pick Aceable if you want the best phone experience or the hands-free audio course, and don’t mind paying $1–$11 over the floor.
  • Pick iDriveSafely if you want the $28 minimum with a choice of reading, listening or watching, and you’re disciplined about declining checkout add-ons.
  • Neither? For most Texas ticket dismissals we still recommend DefensiveDriving.com for its free mailed certificate and paid-ticket guarantee.

Format: the real difference

Aceable’s modules are short, animated and quiz-punctuated, and the audio course can be downloaded and played hands-free. iDriveSafely lets you toggle between reading the text, having it read aloud, and watching video segments, inside an older but functional interface. If you’ll do the course at a desk, iDriveSafely’s flexibility is fine and $1 cheaper. If you’ll do it on a phone or in a car, Aceable is clearly better.

Price: watch the driving record

Course-only, iDriveSafely wins by a dollar. Both overcharge for the Type 3A record relative to the $12 DPS price: Aceable at $25, iDriveSafely at roughly $17 inside its $45 bundle. Order the record yourself from either and the totals are $41 (Aceable) versus $40 (iDriveSafely).
